To benefit patients in our area The Magna Center for Family Medicine has opened a healing room. Following the guidelines of John G. Lake who started healing rooms in the early 1900's, the room operates as a way for people of various denominad tions to receive healing. According to Kurt Micka, director for the MCFM, over 100 people have traveled to Magna to "receive prayer from the ministry teams who volunteer their time on Saturdays to pray for the sick." Ministry team volunteers come from many congregations and are trained to pray over the sick. Originally established in Spokane by John G. Lake in d the early 1900's This ministry allows for people to receive God's healing touch. The Utah Healing rooms opened in November of 2002 with one person waiting to get prayer for healing. Since then, 100 people have now traveled to Magna to receive prayer from the ministry teams who volunteer their time on Saturdays to pray for the sick. The ministry teams are comprised of trained volunteers from many congregations who desire to see the Christ-centere- sick healed. Those desiring prayer fill out a short intake form, which the ministry team prays over prior to interaction with the person. All the prayer is kept confidential., The rooms exist to fulfill God's Word concerning . physical, emotional, and spiritual healing by praying for people and by sharing God's love to those in our community. The Magna Center for Family Medicine has donated space to the Utah Healing Rooms for their ministry on Saturdays.
