The Seasons by W. Kent Goble TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS I suppose we have a tendency to fail to see the value of trials and tribulations in our lives, preferring to hope that the skies overhead will remain forever cloudless while the sun sets upon a g day that has been filled with happiness. But no stone was ever polished by a smoothly flowing stream. We are constantly reminded that there are seasons to our lives. Seasons of plenty when the harvest of our dreams provides us with an overflowing abundance of joy ... and seasons of sorrow and desolation. never-endin- SHADOWS OF DOUBT The good times never seem to last as long as we would like. Instead, clouds loom upon the horizon of our consciousness and, racing like fleecy galleons before the sun, cast shadows of doubt and despair upon the springlike landscape of our dreams. NIGHTFALL OF DISCONTENT The nightfall of discontent seems eminent and we feel the bitter wind of disappointment that accompanies the approaching darkness. Sensing our plight, we seek shelter within ourselves, gathering about us familiar things that remind us that this moment must surely pass ... memories of better times; images of light and hope ... the assurance that every storm must ultimately subside. THE THREADS OF OUR IMPERFECTION That is what we must understand of life ... the purpose and meaning of adversity. Without it we cannot see the light of a brighter day nor the evidence of a better tomorrow. By design, mortality has been carefully woven by a wise creator with the threads of our imperfections. A STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN We must comprehend that all things will pass and that beyond the stony, rubble strewn pathways we trod lies a staircase lending to heaven paved with of Our Lives the gold and silver of as yet unrequited hopes and dreams. But to reach it, we must draw back the curtains that veil our hearts and let the light of forgiveness and understanding shine through. IMPERFECT CREATURES To those who have been wronged, I say, forgive. To those who have given offense, I say, seek forgiveness. We are all imperfect creatures. Therefore, it behooves us to keep a mirror close by. Look into it constantly. Through its glass we will see reflection of ourselves ; .'. wavering images of darkness and light seeking to take form' shape and meaning. , MOLDED FROM THE CLAY OF AN IMPERFECT WORLD What one may appear to be at this moment is not as important as who we may become ... beings of ultimate perfection molded from the clay of an imperfect world, not by our hands alone but by the hand of that majestic creator who sees us clearly for who we really ought to be. LOVE ... THE ESSENCE OF EVERY DREAM We have a long way to go and the journey is fraught with perils and uncertainty. Yet there is an end where love abides and we are all capable of partaking of its eternally flowing waters. That should be the essence of every dream. its easy to be green! Grasscycie!
