It is usually awarded to a traditional student. However, this year, Commissioner Bradley wanted to recognize the growing number of single parents who have returned to get their education. The scholarship is funded by the John David Davenport Scholarship Fund which was founded in 1985 as a means for government entities to help their constituents. It will provide up to $8,000 towards the recipients education. It is one of the best scholarships in America, said Stewart. There have been two graduates from this scholarship to date. As a reward for her hard work, Connie Stevens received a $2,000 scholarship from the National Association of Counties on July 16, 1991 to help her continue her education. single Stevens is a mother of five. When she heard that the scholarship was available, she applied and wrote an essay explaining why she should receive it.
