Blodgett Editor It all started 80 years ago, July 4th, with a parade through downtown 1912, Magna. Eight decades later the tradition of celebrating Independence Day will be carried on Saturday with the traditional parade, but will include a lot of other activities. Scores of entries, including floats, marching groups, bands, and other special events will be included in Saturdays parade. The parade will gather at 8400 West 2700 South and This Magna Pageant float will be only one of several floats, marching bands, and other entries in the gala Magna 4th of July Parade. The float will carry the Miss Magna royalty: Holly Meyers, queen; Tanjula Luke, first attendant; Vanessa Davis, second attendant; and Nicia Osness, third attendant. The parade will begin Saturday at noon, at 8400 West 2700 South, and proceed west on 2700 South. This float will be available for rent in other parades with proceeds to go to the Miss Magna Pageant.
