Admission is $1.50 per person. Joseph Walker, staff writer for the will speak at the Church News February 22 and 23 workshops. Walker has been involved with theatre throughout his life and occasionally reviews local theatrical productions for the Desert News. He will give a theatre critics perspective on how to plan a successful production. The workshop on February 22 will deal with serious and comic drama, and will be taught by Bryan Bowles, drama teacher at Bountiful High School who recently directed Pirates of Penzance at Promised Valley Bowles will discuss Playhouse. selecting a script, directing the play, and other aspects of producing a play. The February 23 workshop will deal with readers' theatre and modified readers theatre. The director of the workshop will be Glen Slight, vocal music teacher at Olympus High school, and music specialist for the General Activities Committee of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. Slight will discuss how to select a script, how do adapt a complete stage play to readers theatre. EASILY and other facets of working with that genre. The workshop on the 24th will deal with musical comedy, under the direction of Pat Davis, cultural arts specialist for the General Activities Committee. In addition to Mrs. Davis, other musical comedy several directors will give ideas about successful musical comedy selection and direction.
