Show MAGNA TIMES, THURSDAY, Hunter News By Beryl Moesser The Young Marrieds of Hunter 10th Ward are plan- ning their annual steak fry the 18th of July in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The party is sponsored by the elders quorum and there will be singing around the campfire; also outside games are being arranged. Pot luck dinner will be served. Some families are planning an overnight stay. Marsha and Robert Breinholt are directors over committees. ....The Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women of Hunter 7th Ward are planning an outing the evening of the 22nd at the Great Salt Lake. There will be a hot dog roast, watermelon, volley ball and swimming. Dale Streeter is director of the Aaronic Priesthood and Nita Sadler is director of the Young Ladies. They will be accompanied by Bishop Deward Nay and counselors Blaine Nielson and Ed Jes-so- .....Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Roderick attended the W.E. Dawson reunion held at Cherry Hill Farm Friday and Saturday. Seven families with their descendants, approximately 75 members, attended. Members of the Roderick family planned the events which included swimming, games, visiting and many brought gifts for auctioning. The funds from the auction will be used for In research. genealogy charge of the program were Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Roderick, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Maples, Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Bassett, and Mr. and Mrs. John R Bybee. A pot luck dinner was served for all Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Smith are home after a trip to Eugene, Oregon, where they visited with their son, David. They took the route through Boise, and Ontario. While with David they visited at the ocean and spent a night in Bent, Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Brant left Friday morning to attend the Mormon Miracle Pageant which was held Couple Wed at the Manti Temple. Saturday they attended the Ute Stampede held at Nephi, Utah. Kristin Hughes and her brother Brandon were guests at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Moesser, while Tawny and Randy Hughes stayed at the home of their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. DeMoyne Oliver. A study group left Friday evening for an overnight stay in American Fork Canyon. The group included Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Holman, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Judkins, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fairbourne, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben W'itbeck and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nielson. Miss Dorothy Marshall left June 21 for Cordoba, Argentina where she will serve 16 months on a mission for the LDS Church. Dorothy is the daughter of Alice Marshall. Miss Marshall spent 8 weeks at the LTM at Provo before leaving for her mission. Mrs. Alice Marshall with her mother, Mrs. Nisha Christian, a brother Kenneth, her sons Alan and Jim are home after spending nine days in Wyoming enjoying fishing at the Fontanelle Reservoir. They report good fishing and lovely scenery. Mrs. Larry (Margo) Bucker has left for Indianapolis after being a guest at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lowder. Mr. and Mrs. Bucker were guests for a week before Mr. Bucker left to attend school in Indianapolis. Mrs. Bucker remained for a longer stay. Following his schooling the two will return to Utah where Larry will be stationed. Hunter 1st Ward Relief Society officers and teachers met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Nickel for a barbecue and games Saturday evening. Mrs. Nickel is president of this organization. Husbands of the officers and teachers were special guests. Counselors to Mrs. Nickel are Fonta Anderson and Leola Ludwig. Miss Julie Ann Taylor became the bride of David Richard Tomlin in a wedding .is... Miss Kaye Riley, lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Riley, 2911 South 8750 West, Magna, became the bride of Rex Christensen, of Mr. and Mrs. Dell A. Christensen, 2819 S. 8500 West, Magna on June 20. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Milton Johnson at the Bells Reception W'edding Center. A reception was held later. The young couple were married on the 39th anniversary of the bride's parents. A rehearsal dinner was given at Log Haven by Mr. and Mrs. Dell A. Christensen. The new Mrs. Christensen was dressed in a long, white gown of nylon organza with a chapel train. It had a fluted neckline which formed the sleeve. The skirt had a large ruffle on the bottom and was trimmed with lace daisy appliques. Her large spring hat was crowned with a nylon veil and flowers. Mrs. Christensen carried a bouquet of red rose buds and baby breath. She was attended by Miss Lyndee Perkins as maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Shannon Bills, Sharon Duckworth, Michelle Leon-ellGerry Leonelli and Sheryl Case. They were all dressed in floor length blue and white dotted swiss gowns accented with a large white bow in the back, square neckline and short puffed sleeves. They carried nosegays of white daisies. Little SariAnn Riley, the brides niece, was the flower girl. She wore a long ruffled dress of blue and white dotted swiss and carried a small nosegay of white daisies. The mothers of the bride and groom were dressed in long blue and white floral print gowns of nylon knit. They wore shoulder corsages of white gardenias. Jerry Christensen served as best man. Cool in pan on wire rack 30 minutes. Lift out and cool completely. Spread bottom with preserves. Fill with fruit. Blend together last three ingredients; serve as sauce with shortcake.
