Big Pumpkin Contest Westvale Presbyterian Launched Presbyterian Church with morning worship at 10 a.m. Mr. Emerson McBane, a missionary on furlough from Pakistan, will be in the pulpit on this day. TIIE REV. Mr. William C. Brown, Mobile Minister from the Synod of Colorado, will ar- rive at Westvale June 7th and remain during the month of June. He will reside at the Manse. One of Mr. Browns purposes in being here is to get an individual assessment of this church for the Synod. jr' Jt . The annual pumpkin-growin- g contest, sponsored by the Magna Chamber of Commerce, represented by Mrs. Dorothy Merrill, right, and the Magna Flower Garden Club, Mrs. Lang, left, Is creating a great deal of interest. Hold Garden Club, in cooperation w'ith the Magna Chamber of Commerce, will distribute seeds for the annual big pumpkin contest, according to Mrs. Thora Lang, representing the Garden Club, and Mrs. Dorothy Merrill, chamber representative. Pumpkin seeds may be obtained from either Mrs. Merrill at The Fair Store or Mrs. Lang, 2932 S. 9050 West. Rules of the contest include: The grower of pumpkins (to enter the contest) must be under years of age. The weight of the pumpkin must be certified by a member of the Magna Garden Club or the Magna Chamber of Commerce. The winner of the local contest will be eligible to compete in the national contest.
