| Show SAINTS IN MEXICO COLONIA mexico may 26 25 1896 1895 J ft this last month ban baa been a very interesting one to the saints of this mission on may day the inhabitants of this colony had a most enjoyable time time outing was motion up under abe be auspices of the J juarez barez sabbath BOti ool brother dennison E harris harrie superintendent was the obal oba rmon irmon of the commit ateo tie of arrangements at sunrise the town was serenaded by our excellent brass band under the abe able leador leadership ship of brother J J wal ser at 8 in the morning there was a gathering of the saints who came from all parts of thia thi colony in carriages car nages and wagons filled with men women and children dressed in gals gala attire the air was filled with music and the fragrance of flowers A procession was formed of vehicles headed by the brass band next came the queen of the may and her maids of honor followed by the citizens it was a long procession every one seemed irAte rested and happy about three miles south of the settlement by the piedras verdi river is a fine grove of trees here herec a stand had been erected for the occasion and the congregation formed in front an excellent interesting program followed of speeches spee chec music realta brecita gions and singing sing tog the band and bair choir did good service the crowning of the queen oy by her maids of honor and their singing was waa very enjoyable picnic and games followed wid and music by the band in the evening a social party crowned the amusements of ane lay day another enjoyable occasion was wai the return ot of one of our missionaries from england elder miles A romney sox ox of elder miles allea P who had been away a little over two years ond had bad been honorably released from a very interesting and successful mis missler his hia return was waa a source ot of joy to 11 his friende lenda fr by whom he be Is i much respected A most moat enjoyable time was waa hold held at the reception given to in honor of olbia his return at colonia diaz they have bad a ward con conference terence that lasted three day daff which was waa much enjoyed by all meetings were well attended and an excellent spirit prevailed eldora elders george teesdale Tea anale and henry eyring of the presidency of the mission and patriarch W B R R stowell were in attendance UN HERMANO |
