an bait ted led board of education gentlemen 1 I have looked over the original and supplemental proposal of oatha the hendley A meyer engineering col pany subsided sub to me by your clerk fir fur bishing a heating and ventilating plant biant for the lincoln school C also the draft of contract submitted by mr c r plunkett Plunk eit representing that I 1 observe that the proposals to furnish h this ON plant are general in their nature and applicable to live five different school aoh S buildings that much of the original origan pro o consists of rep represent actions in the nature of advocacy of the particular plant provided by this company their thair or sta temen is in representations th tho e nm ro gogala asals are I 1 find treated by mr alun p tott keit as specifications with reference to the ed plant it seems to toe ine that as such chev are unsatisfactory it think there should be definite specification made out for each of the school buildings building included within this general beneral proposition and which it to is ag agreed shall be supplied aup plied with frith the plant proposed my reasons for this thia is that I 1 cannot conceive it possible and even probable that referring to this general proposal as specifications for a particular building many disagreements as to the true intent and meaning will arise HG however wever this is a matter ol of knowledge with which I 1 assure your com committee cittee has familiarized itself and with which I 1 am not familiar and there tore e submit to you in lieu of the proposed contract submitted by mr plunkett a draft which I 1 have prepared briefer and I 1 think more comprehensive designed as you will observe to make all th the e representations contained in the general proposal osal covenants on the part oro of age the contractor with the change or modifications with reference to lines flues indicated by the draft and making everything in bonnea tion with the construction furnishing and installing of their plant subject to the inspection and acceptance of your superintendent and yourselves if the proposals containing the specifications are deemed by you sufficiently definite I 1 recommend the draft of contract which I 1 hand you as a substitute for the one furnished by the agent of the contractor although that is more voluminous all of which is P ia L pike moved that the
