regarding the school site advertised for in the sixth ward we have received the following offers william buttle offered to sell rods in lot 3 block 44 plat A for C fenton offered one half of lot 3 block 44 plat A for J C watson atson hugh watson cateon T ireen green and J H poulton offered rods on fifth south between third and fourth west streets for we also report having secured an offer from mrs emma fenton for rods and an offer for rods and WO rods of back land adjoining the land offered by mrs fenton featon we recommend that the offer of these two persons be accepted and arrangements ments a at ai once be made to secure the title thereto on such terms as the board ma may determine it will be observed th that at boak both these offers are for cash but your committee believe that on payment of 1000 to mrs fenton and 1000 to mr battle that deeds can be secured vesting title in this board and said deeds deposited in escrow with the county recorder or one of the banks in this city on conditions that the deferred payments of and 2500 respectively ively draw interest at 8 per cent per annum with the understanding that the board take immediate possession of the property and proceed to improve the same on consults con sulta ion with some of the members of the finance committee it was deemed advisable to discon discontinue all negotiations tiati ons for sites for bonda bond as a sale of a few of the bonds in this way would prevent a consummation of a sale of the remainder to the bond buyers A discussion followed which ended in the committee being authorized to accept the offers of mrs fenton mr buttle and mr poulton SCHOOL HOUSE PLANS the same committee offered the following report which was waa adopted we have also examined plans for school houses and are advised by these architects that the cost of these eight roomed buildings will not exceed each fortio stories and bm basement ement but the committee suggest that they be authorized to solicit bids from reliable contractors that in the coast construction st of said buildings will be the best beat evidence of their cost and your com add to the plans a large hall as a third story we present for your favorable consideration and adoption the following plans without however recommending any special system of heating or sanitation suggested by the different architects reserving that for
