| Show SOUTH CAROLINA conference this conference convened at pacolet springs spartanburg county south carolina ga rolina on oct and the missionaries present were J Q G kimball president of the southern states mission C F emery president of south carolina conference and traveling elders H S tanner D F tanner H S B phelps J S lee D S wallace H wallace richard parker and W H allen alien A priesthood meeting was held on saturday morning the elders pre be dented anted their reports which were very satisfactory H 8 tanner was waa sustained as secretary detary of the conference at lo 10 a CD meeting yas was called to order by prest frost 0 F emery who gave eave the people a hearty welcome D F tanner spoke upon the restoration of the gospel goa and testified to the divinity of the work in which the latter day saints are engaged H wallace bore his testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel and exhorted the saints to be faithful and true president J 0 kimball chose as a foundation of his remarks the chapter of isaiah the verse he spoke upon the trials of the saints 2 S lee dwelt upon the unity of the saints and the blent blessings in store for them if they did their duty D S wallace spoke upon faith and works g H S phelps descanted des canted upon the creation of the world and W H allen alien hinted out that it was not merely hearers bearers of the word that are wanted but doers also on sunday at 10 am H S tanner dwelt on the necessity of divine authority and an the th restoration of the gospel richard bichard parker testified to the truths advanced by the other elders and the keeping the commandments god has given us president C F emery compared the doctrines advanced by the latter day saints with those taught by the apostles anciently mad and asked the people to be honest and kg comply y with its ordinances at the afternoon session prest preat J 0 kimball gave some interesting instructions on the duties of the saints and said in inthe the course of his remarks that the saints who would not pray treat the elders right and attend to their other duties were stumbling blocks to goo good d P people at the evening session H a S tanner declared that god will reward all men according to their works breet pres J G kimball asked the people to keep in view eternal life encouraged the feathering of israel and said that all who would be faithful and true god would bless we held three council meetings and valuable instructions were given by prest kimball d who expressed crept satisfaction at the flourishing condition of our conference and the good spirit r manifested by all elders H S tanner and D S wallace were appointed to labor in bruns wick alok and columbia counties N C J S lee and richard parker in horry horry co S 0 H S phelps and henry wallace in georgetown and williamsburg counties S C and C P F emery D F tinner tanner and W H allen alien in spartanburg Spart enburg CO S CHENRY S TANN Eia clerk clifron spartanburg co S C oct 28 1891 |
