| Show LET SOMETHING BE DONE A LARGE number of peoples peopled party voters have had their names stricken off the registration lists nt at least this is what they claim t men who have voted right along for several years and who have not removed from the city or from the precinct in which they have voted state that they have been frim summarily marily J deprived of their right to vote some complain that they went to the registrars office during the week provided by law for that purpose and were informed that their names were on the list but ayi going boid za to vote they were told at the polls that their names had bedei stricken off and they were ic not lot al owed to cast their ballots we believe this because it is but a repetition of the infamous work done at the municipal election it ife is liberal politics it is for this kind of work that certa certain iii men have been rewarded and others are told tola that they will be rewarded if I 1 they wait their turn now why is it that the defrauded voters do not take some definite steps to gain their rights or vindicate their they should either do something or quit grumbling their names ought to be ie instated or the officer who deprived them of their right of franchise should be sued and prosecuted he can be pursued at both civil and criminal law any man who will commit such a crime should be heavily punished 41 there is a doubt we know as aa to the likelihood of success consider considering ag the prejudice existing and the bias of courts and juries but in a case of this kind the truth can be made apparent and the crime can be exposed and if the criminal is not net punished the reavoil reason for his escape e can be made patent to all something should I 1 e done to protect the voter to expose franchise robbers and to make possible in this city sh a fair and free expression of the will of the people at the polls if any voter has been defrauded aud and he can prove his case he should s come forward like a man and stand up for his rights for his bis cwi sake and for the good of the public let us have justice and failing that let iet us at least have light apt injustice and fraud |
