Show SHOT ON THE STREET at about 1250 sept john T snellion Sn ellson shot a man named lockett jockett who will probably die the circumstances leading to and connected with the shooting are as follows follow fr lockett has for some gome time pmt amt been in the employ of the rio grande western company as foreman of a gang of car inspectors and snellion Sn ellson has bas been in the employ of the same company as foreman of a gang of car repairers of necessity the two men had a more or less close connection with each other in their work and they have not got along pleasantly in fact it is stated that they have quarreled repeatedly on saturday last trouble occurred between them which it is stated had its rise over the fact that snellion Sn ellson wanted to put on certain workmen while lockett objected claiming they were not competent lockett kays ays that on the occasion of their last quarrel snellion Sn Su ellson drew a knife on him what if anything passed between the two men between saturday and noon today is not known but the following particulars of the shooting are aen by a workman who was an eyewitness eye witness to it on the northeast corner of the intersection of second south and fourth west streets which of course is on the southwest corner of the block stands a brick building belonging to T C armstrong jr the west wall of the building is on the line of the sidewalk on the east side of fourth west street and the front of the building is flush with the second south street sidewalk immediately east of this building is ia another buck structure in course of south street hailed balled a street car that was going east and stepped into it he rode in ia the streetcar street car to main street when the conductor and motorman motor mao mau discovering that he was wounded halle hailed 4 policeman james dunning donning who called an express wagon and conveyed him birn to the city hall where he arrived within fifteen minutes of the time he was shot five minutes later dr meacham city physician anti anil dr fowler were in the office of city marshal young where the wounded MUD mn was lying on oc a mattress on the floor by direction of the surgeons he about medium height and apparently about thirty three years old it is believed he is single immediately after firing at lockett snellion Sn ellson walked to the county jail two blocks block distant gave himself up and was locked up in a cell he is about thirty five years old is of rather small stature dark complexion pl exion wears a black moustache and looks like a hard hardworking working man
