| Show IN FAVOR OF PEACE thern THERE is no element of cowardice in the sturdy men who cida comprise the I 1 mass masa ef cf the peopled party in any sort of au an emergency they would be as cool brave and dauntless as any men on earth they are not lacking either in a disposition to defend both their rights and their persons but they are to a man inan in favor 0 of getce they will never seek nor countenance anything in violation of it they may always be counted upon to maintain law and order and respect the rights of all other classes including their most relentless opponents their disposition in this regard was amply shown last night though there were carried in the t liberal Libe raP procession transparencies banners and mottoes which were designedly needlessly and senselessly insulting to the members of the peoples peopled party and though catch cries were shouted from the column of a character anti and significance calculated to incense the spectators who belonged to the opposite party the insults were not resented and aside from good natured shouts fl from flom om peoples party boys and some seme retaliatory banter returned in exchange by them ibe the marchers barchers mar chers were not molested in the least degree and good order was maintained among peoples party spectators the latter havea have a right fight to ask that no BO worse treatment be accorded to them this evening and on monday they rhey desire deal re that all ot the peace be avoided and can be relied upon to pursue a course in line with that end it the cooperr co opera tion of the other party shall I 1 be given in good faith the proceedings of tonight and the election on monday will pow pass off peacefully |
