Show STAKE conferences SEVIER the quarterly conference of the sevier stake convened in richfield hall at 10 a m sunday february there were present on the stand apostle A H lund president H bes beal of sanpete stake presidents G W bean and W ff dark clark of this stake a majority of the bishops high council and home missionaries president W H was absent being in attendance at the legislature the speakers were apostle A H lund president H seal deal presidents G W been bean and W H dark clark bishops H H bell of glenwood Gleo wood poul poulson Pou laon of richfield first ward and elder joseph J anderson of the stake academy fe the bishops reported the condition of their several wards the general genera duties of the saints were discoursed upon by the several speakers apostle lund dwelt for some time upon the authenticity of the book of mormon also the many blessings which the saints enjoy as an a people the general and stake authorities were presented and all sustained by unanimous vote ft comparatively spring weather prevailed during Cou conference forence but this was followed by a heavy snowfall of from four to eight inches SAMUEL 0 assistant stake clerk SNOWFLAKE the quarterly conference of the snowflake stake was as held on march 2nd and and 3rd ard there was a good attendance from a all tile the wards except tonto basin and tuba City the great distance prevents many coming from these wards to attend our conferences feren ces there were present on the stand A postles apostles F M leyman and J if H smith anti and some visiting brethren from the st johns stake of the local authorities president jesse N smith and counters counselors bishops and members of the high council the speakers were presidents jesse N smith C H hatch and J H richards apostles F M lyman and J H smith brothers john cook and E N Preeman Freeman tand rand bishops john hunt john bushman E R M webb M E willis niels petersen and hans hansen the reports of the bishops showed the wards to be in very fair condition but nearly all had suf allf ered consider considerably sibly from high water the greatest loss was sustained by woodruff fr the people there had lost their dam which was the most costly of any on the stream there has been considerable sickness in some of the wards the instructions given by the speakers were of an excellent character and calculated to strengthen and encourage the saints in their duties JOSEPH fim clerk |
