for many of the sug 1 or which we present herewith your consideration a 4 hn 1 it has freen decided to establish ofaf f of examination composed elders karl G maer james E talmage and J M tanner who will act according to the following instructions co course arse 0 of t procedure relative to the L examination of instructors for church schools and the awarding of certificates and diplomas to the same 1 Aft after erthe the close of the present school year 1888 1889 no teacher will be eligible to act in any church school who does not hold a certificate from the general board of education 2 certificates will be issued as follows as pedal certificates for particular branches not included in the usual courses or for parts of courses only b ge CL 8 ary grade ado c general certificates for intermediate grave grade d diplomas dillom jw jor academy grade 3 these certificates will be issued only upon the following conditions dit ions a proof of full standing in the church of jesus christ of latter day saints must be filed in the shape of a statement signed by the bishop of the ward in which the applicant is a member 6 proof of efficiency in the specified branches must be furnished by examinations ami nations before the general board of examiners 4 limited certificates licenses will be issued good only for one year from date of issuance to those now actually engaged in the church school service upon the following conditions a acting principals in church schools and teachers who have taught academic studies in any of our academies upon the presentation of testimonials from their respective stake boards expressing pres sing I 1 satisfaction with services alre already ady rendered and upon filing proof of standing in the church as above mentioned will receive certificates for the ID intermediate ter mediate grade good for one year 6 other instructors tors actually engaged in church schools upon the presentation of testimonials of satisfaction with past labors from their respective principals and upon filing proof of standing in the church will receive certificates for far the primary grade good for one year 5 the curriculum for aae each h grade is as follows appointing him professor in the course or of special study in which he has shown efficiency 6 the title of professor will be recognized as applicable in church schools to those only who hold academic diplomas as specified above 7 applicants for certificates will be required to deposit the following f fees ees before certificates axe are iss issued u ed primary grade intermediate grade 4 00 academic Dip diploma lorna special certificate according to grade 8 the first annual examination for the issuance of certificates will be held at provo city utah commencing may 1889 at 10 a in and will continue thereafter for one week SCHOOL YEAR the general board of education recommend the subjoined sub joined calendar for the ensuing school year leaving it optional however with the respective spec tive institutions to make su such changes as their different condi eions and circumstances may require I 1 term from august ath to october alth 1889 II 11 term from october until Decem december
