| Show death of a Batta battalion liou member at 9 iba last evening william strong of the tenth ward was taken sick his bis heart and lungs being affected and at 8 this morning he breathed his last he was a member of the mormon battalion and was born in strongs town indiana co penn october 80 0 1827 he was baptized at nauvoo when about fitin fifteen years old his parents having embraced the gospel and removed thither he settled in utah in 1818 1848 and in 1849 1840 located in the tenth ward of this city he subsequently lived in ogden but since 1896 this city has been his bis home me he was a captain in the nauvoo legion and took part in the echo campaign in 1867 1857 8 the funeral service will be held on OB friday next at I 1 p m in the tenth ward meeting house bouse to allow time for some of the relatives to reach the city any members of the mormon battalion within reach are specially invited to attend |
