Since this is a'university, that means it was a successful semester for everyone. The University Journal Editorial Board did some brainstorming about the highlights from this semester. Here are a few we came up with: There is a beautiful new staircase for everyone to stare at in the center of campus. We are pretty sure everyone got tired of looking at a construction site, and it took a lot of patience, but it should now be easier for every member of the SUU community to get to the upper portion of campus. The election is over! it may surprise everyone to read that the Journal staff was getting tired of all the politics, but we are just as glad as anyone that all the arguing is done with. Orrin Hatch will serve as a Utah Senator for another term, Jim Matheson will serve as our districts House Representative for another term and Barack Obama will continue his residency in the White House. Thor went to boot camp and came back with a new look. This was SUUs first semester in the Big Sky Conference, and apparently he wanted to look his best. Speaking of the Big Sky, SUUs football team went 9 in out with a bang, defeating Northern Arizona football their defeated team, we Before overtime. triple NAU was at the top of Big Sky standings. This was an especially good autumn for the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Their productions had better attendance than ever before. In 201 1,BYU Broadcasting did a live broadcast of USFs Midsummer Nights Dream and this year it was announced that they won a Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Regional Emmy award. USF is also fundraising so they can expand, and recently received a $5 million donation for the project from the Engelstad family. To those who will have completed the requirements necessary to receive their degree, we offer our hearty congratulations. We would like to wish everyone luck with Finals Week. If you can survive Finals Week, then we wish you luck with the impending end of the world. According to the Mayans, this should happen Dec. 21. Once you finish studying for finals, you might want to take a moment to study survival strategies. We suggest of you talk 'with Kyle Bishop, associate professor English, if you think there will be a zombie outbreak, since he is our resident zombie expert. You might also want to purchase some Twinkies, since they will soon be unavailable in stores and they are a food which will still be around by January. We would also suggest carrying a towel around with you, just in case. 35-2- are the collective Editorial Journal the University perspective of meets board The editorial Mondays and Board.
