A few students share their most distressing part of finals and how they manage to survive. Courtney Scholes, a junior history major from Parowan.had a few things to say about her four upcoming finals. 1 hate them, Scholes said. dont like the stress and pressure put on us because we only get J ' 1 one study day to get it done. Scholes said taking everything one step at a time is what helps her overcome the weight of her deadlines. I spread it out, so I come in confident and ready to pass, Scholes said when asked about her study habits. She said she doesn't like to study right before her test because it makes her feel like she doesn't know the material. I try not to look at it because itll just make me go crazy, Scholes said. Tyler Hack, a senior chemistry major from Lancaster, Calif., said the worst part about finals is finding out when they are. So theres that inconvenience because theyre not when they normally are during the week, Hack said. He said there are a couple things that help get him through finals. You only have to go to class like once that week, and also the realization that grad school will be a lot harder, he said. This is easy. He said his regret from previous finals is not asking his professor beforehand what would be on the final. Stacia Whitmore, a junior from major psychology a has different Richfield, schedule than Hack. She said the worst part about finals for her is theyre all at the same time. Especially when you have a job and you have to study, 1 said. started Whitmore studying already. said she has three She psychology finals, a nutrition final, a child development final and tests before finals week. Whitmore said she regrets cramming for her finals in previous years. Now Whitmore said she doesn't limit her studying to study day and moments before her final, and she doesnt plan any activities for the week of finals. Payton Shaw, a freshman undeclared major from Pleasant Grove, experiencing college for the first time, said she has a hard time resisting the distractions. Shaw said there are so many fun things to do with friends at school that outshine what she should be doing. She said shell be able to see shes made some of her friends over the break but not all of them. Theyre not super far away, but theyre not my neighbors, Shaw said. Shaw said she makes lists to help her with her finals, and or she doesnt pull cram study. Preston Manwill, a sophomore biology major from Annabella, said the distractions are more of a boost than a deterrent. Spending time with people he likes and still making time for what he enjoys helps with the weight put on his final exams, he said. I get stressed out thinking that this last test determines my final grade, Manwill said. He also said staying consistent with his study habits is also important for him to stay on top of everything. Muppets proves to me there still may be hope for humanity provided theres a place in it for frogs with banjos who excel at showbiz.
