Family members remained on the beach during the search and several members of the community offered to help, but only trained personnel were allowed in the mromerosuunews.com A Cedar City man drowned at the Lake at the Hills reservoir Sunday afternoon; search and rescue teams recovered a body at about 5 p.m. Sunday. J.R. Detective Sergeant Robinson said police were called at about 1:30 p.m. when Sunday Price disappeared Clayton beneath the water. Price was swimming with family and had his daughter with him when his wife saw him push the girl away and go under. His body was recovered roughly 40 feet from where he was last seen. Robinson said he is unsure how deep the lake is or how far eight-year-o- area. Ambulances, K-- 9 units and a helicopter were called in to assist in the search. Tuition deadline faces future revisions SUU registrar John Allred said students were dropped from their classes on the Aug. 12 after not meeting deadline. Allred said he initially received several complaints from parents about the system because it is different than the tuition plan of prior years. SL'Us College of Performing and Visual Arts collaborated with the Hubei Opera and Dance Theater to narrate Snow's life through the language of dance. They enacted the journey of Helen Foster Snow from Cedar City, Utah to becoming a renowned humanitarian and journalist in China during the early 1900s. SUU President Michael T. Benson said that to his knowledge, the performance is the first theatrical collaboration between a United States univerisity and China. He as described the production momentous" and said that plans were being made to biing the production the the United States. He described the overall production as a Tommy-esqu- e rock opera. Payden Adams, a senior dance and theatre arts major from Cedar Fort, danced the supporting role of Snows husband, Edgar Snow. Adams said the students were treated like royalty while in China, and that the entire experience was out of this world. It completely surpassed any expectations that any of us (student performers) had. Adams said. Fourteen dance students performed with 80 members of the Hubei Opera and Dance Drama Theatre and six music students peifoimed with the Hubei Symphony SUU summer play dazzles overseas ; j 1 t T-Bi-rd Orchestra. Faculty also participated in a conference on Helen Foster Snows life held in collaboration with the opening production. The students said they were impressed by the caliber of peiformance, as well as the hospitality. The dance drama was more that just telling a story of Helen Foster Snow. It was about finding the heart and soul of who she was and what she is all about, he said. Benson said he was impressed by the impact that Snow had on the entire nation of China. With the Aug. 12 tuition deadline in the books, SUU is reviewing administration what changes should be made to the tuition payment program before the next scheduled deadline on Dec. 9. The new policy, which began this semester, was changed from a tuition payment due during the semester to a tuition deadline 10 days before classes were scheduled to begin. Those who didnt pay tuition or enroll in a payment plan by Aug. 12 were instantly dropped from their classes. Dean O'Driscoll. SUUs vice president for university lehtions said the policy was adapted to make it easier for students to get classes at the into beginning of the semester The main focus was the fact that wed get three or four weeks into a semester and then wed have hundreds of students drop because they didn't pay and hundreds of students who needed to be in those classes who now could not get in those classes, he said.
