It was apparent to me that any objective view of the scene of the accident was going to mromerosuujoumal The citation received by an SUU student involved in a minor accident with Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff on Sept. 28 has been dismissed. Zach Schryver, a freshman communication major from Cedar Qty, was issued a citation for unsafe movement of a vehicle, when he was involved in a collision between his 1992 Plymouth Laser and SUV Shurtleff the was riding in. The citation was issued by Tom Cowan, Public Safety interim chief, Zach Schryver said. Shurtleff was visiting SUU with Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr. for SUUs Vote Project Week, and first lady Mary Kaye Huntsmans Power in You campaign. the incident After wtith their own vehicles and photographing the simulation, Zach Schryver and his father, Will Schryver, decided to organize their own defense and contest the ticket, Zach Schryver said. Will said the Schryver prosecuting attorney informed the judge his witnesses had not appeared and moved that the charges be dismissed without prejudice, which the judge granted. Cowan said he was issued a subpoena to testify, but missed the court session because of a misinterpretation of the date. It was my fault, I failed-tappear at that court date,. Cowan said.
