N 628-354- 4 Post Office adds services (CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1) over the previous facility, said Brown, although the office still lacks the space needed to handle the amount of bulk mail it periodically receives. Office workers introduced bar codes two weeks ago to improve the campus services efficiency. Mail arriving in Cedar City from northern Utah now goes through a sorting machine, where a laser reads the address. An SUSC code is then sprayed onto the envelope. The code is read by a computer, which sorts the campus mail into bags. Postal officials implemented the computerized sorting process, which sorts over 100 pieces of mail per minute, after realizing the Cedar City office was handling too much incoming campus mail. The computerized system sorts the mail before it arrives to the Cedar City office, which results in faster, more efficient service. The code system is not yet in full effect but will be used more in the future, said Brown. Department mail receives first priority, as the college itself funds the mailroom. There havent been any problems with getting behind, though, said Brown, so students neednt worry that their mail is being delayed. SUSCs Post Office window hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Campus mail goes out at 1 1 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon Saturday. Box rental is $5 per quarter, $9 for three quarters, or $12 for one year. Prospective box holders can pay rental fees at the SUSC Cashiers Office, located in the Administration Building. improvement 2 MEDIUM CHEESE PIZZAS mmvB MMfum UIU PUT YOUR COLLEGE DEGREE TO WORK. $10" Force Officer Training School is an excellent sfarf foa Air DELIVERY HOURS: challenging career as an Air Force Officer.
