The process of admission into a graduate school is one of convenience and expedience. It is well known that a students grade point average and test score are more important that his actual ability and intelligence when it comes to being admitted into a graduate program. Being adequately prepared for that test could make a difference in a students future. Many educators have said that a single exam score taken within a four to eight hour period may be more important than a GPA, which takes four years to accumulate. 6 Clubs Arc On the Move hard-earne- ASSUSC chartered clubs and various organizations will play a major role under the new ASSUSC administration. Clubs and Organizations Director Lana Houston will be meeting with all club presidents and advisers on a biweekly basis. In these meetings clubs will be actively involved with promoting and participating in the coming events. By participating in the many planned activities, clubs will benefit in many ways; two in particular. The first and foremost is that ail clubs will be given the opportunity to generate additional revenue for their club. With these funds, clubs will be able to expand their ability to be involved in competitions and develop their interests. Second, the clubs will be able to provide a great college experience for the club members. These benefits will only come by participating and getting involved. Some of the planned activities that are already being undertaken by the new student government include: Wild West Week, some fabulous competitions, Fall Festival and Spirit Week. Student government is interested in you, and what you feel would contribute to Southern Utah State College. Lana concluded, We want this year to be remembered as quality, not quantity. d was that graduate test preparation course would be brought to campus to help students better prepare for taking those tests. Under the direction of the administrative assistant, Kenny Harvey, the wheels are turning to fulfill that promise. Preparation courses of one sort or another are being set up in all academic areas. It is hoped by the current student administration that all the groundwork will be done to establish these courses by the end of spring quarter.
