Show Page 10 The Thunderbird Monday February 18, 1985 Birds slip past Mines 8 in overtime 77-6- by Stewart Smith Even though the game is already a week old the SUSC basketball team can still remember the scare it received from the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers. SUSC defeated Mines in overtime Monday. The Snow Bowl will be held Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Alpine Lanes. Students, faculty and staff are all eligible to participate in the event. The Snow Bowl will be for teams consisting of four members, men, women or mixed. Teams will bowl three games and the top four teams by total pin scores will be invited back for a single elimination tournament, Thursday, Feb. 21. A charge of $3 will cover the three games' and the cost of shoe rental. The first place and team will receive trophies. The second place team will also receive trophies. The worst bowlers will also receive trophies. The badminton tournament will feature divisions for beginners and advanced players. The deadline for the tourney is 5 p.m. today with play scheduled to begin Tuesday. The tourney will be for single competitors with a double elimination format. Matches will be best of three games. The game schedule will be posted in the P.E. Building. A $1 entry fee will be charged but will be given back after the tournament if no forfeits occur. will be given to the champions in both divisions. ts |
