Show fhe Thunderbird Thursday January 27, 1983 Page 9 Auditions scheduled for theatre productions Auditions will be held Feb. 1 4, 1 5 and 1 6 for Southern Utah State y College productions of "Deathtrap" and "Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." "Deathtrap," an Ira Levin murder mystery, opens at SUSC on April 1 5. The intimate theatre production will be directed by Gary M. McIntyre, chairman of the SUSC Department of Theatre Arts. "Sweeney Todd," with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, is the most ambitious musical ever undertaken at SUSC. It opens on May 1 3, directed by Fred C. Adams, professor of theatre arts. Auditions will be held each day from 7 p.m. in the SUSC Auditorium. Feb. 1 4 is reserved for singing selections (two minutes in length); Feb. 1 5 for campus-communit- 5-- prepared scenes (two minutes in length); and Feb. 1 6 for general and cold readings for both productions. "Those who plan only to audition for 'Deathtrap' need not audition the first night," R. Scott Phillips, theatre promotions coordinator said. "And those who plan only to audition for 'Sweeny Todd neednt audition the second evening. Specific audition slots will be established, Phillips said, with a sign-i- n sheet located in the theatre arts department.
