from the town of sabine to the railroad track came in on an engine and gave a heartrending heart rending account of affairs there they say the waters began to invade the town from the ithe gulf eulf and lake together about 2 alel 0 ck T tuesday afternoon ter and rose with unprecedented rapidity the citizens of the doomed place ed did not realize their imminent danger until it was too late to escape when bacety by flight was recognized recognize as being out of the question people who were situated so they could do L 10 lo 60 o betook retook themselves to houses house sand and resorts ad adjudged budged to be the safest the WATER KEPT RISING I 1 and between 3 and 4 the smaller houses began to yield to the resistless force of the waves and not only moved from their foundations but
