nave have been rn made 4 de by the brethren who havo bavo praised us and I 1 thought that I 1 would arise and add 9 few remarks to those already given it elves gives me pleasure always to meet with the latter day saints to talk with them and hear bear them talk of those great groat and eternal principles which our father in heaven has haa revealed rey rev cAled for the blonti ing and exaltation of the human family men comprehend very little of these things and further they know very tery little about usand usand oda our r faith our out practice and our doings I 1 was pleased to bobear hear brother johnh arnith make the remarks ha he did aid concerning himself ae as re regards regarda gardis hta hla purity his virtue bin sin gle gie nasar of heart and MR bin desire to dowood do good I 1 wish all the latter day saints could bay hay and aud do dothe the same I 1 wish they we were reail all ail actuated by the bame same principle of honor of truth of integrity and of virtue and I 1 would say that thal if there are those who whoa are flot they are hypo crit esthey elthey pre are are not the represents of the principles of aruth truth of these thebe great and arid glor ious loua principles which god has haa revealed to us but they kie are r a disgrace to their theli profession gods expects ali jus at least to be moral he expected the jews under the mosaic dispensation to be pulon cf f troll virtue and then come and preach morality to uel NOW we can talk to one another I 1 can talk plainly to the saints because we profess more b but ut it does not do for such characters to come and preach morality to us they had better go home and attend to their own affairs faire af but bub we are expected to do right and to take a right virtuous and honorable course and then we need not fear any evil talk about persecution why yes will they perse persecute cute cuto you yes will they hate you yeb yea will they rob you yes and thank god for having the privilege and what will we do try and prevent them god being our helper will they traduce you yon ye yee that is if their words are of any account but they are not much these low degraded moua characters do not believe one god dand and know no other fear for god is our father our it t and our protector and be he is the only friend that we know anything about in this world he will take care of us we will commit our cause to him and ask no odds of this world in any shape they can fix it they may ful irr Itt sinate their decrees and mr evarts evarta if he please may call upon a number of european to assist the united states to re regulate the morals of a small people numbering about two hundred thousand here among upwards of forty million he may call upon these european nations to assist the united states to regulate the morals of this people up in these mountains if it pleases him but what a magnificent spectacle coming from such auch a source as it does why there is more corruption in washington in one oue day than there is iu in halt bait lake city io to twelve months mouths gentiles thrown io in but we c certainly e r all of us need our morals more or less correcting in relation to these matters I
