| Show TOOELE STAKE conference CONFER enack ENICK TOOELE CITY april 1880 editor deseret the quarterly Quai terly conference of the T tooele thoele aoel e beake convened in tooele thoele city on the and auth of april sao present of the tile quorum of the ti twelve velve velse E elders ders A carrington F at lyman and john H smith also president if S gowans counselor C L anderon ander Ande rou ron oil oli and a good representation of the bishops presidents of quorums and leading le adine men of the slake stake take the saturday morning meeting was occupied in giving reports of quorums qu indian mission miss ion lon district choals ch ad and the tiie stake in wea gea genera general eral cral interspersed with suitable remarks by apostle F al lyman the bishops in inthe the afternoon reported the condition ot of their wards and apostle john henry smith occupied p I 1 e d a portion of the time in imparting valuable instruction that was listened lis ils to with marked attention ain bin the evenin evening the Y 31 M 1 associations ciati ons of the stake held their quarterly loaf conference arence at which reports were given by each association the off omm meers officers of the stake organization for mutual improvement were also presented and sustained and a pro gramme of exercises was executed very satisfactorily af after ter which apostle carrington offered some very good suggestions and words ot of counsel un on sunday morning at 10 the commodious mee meeting ting house v was filled to its capacity the sabbath schools of the stake were w ere represented by supt bupt 1 jeffries and the 43 ad quorum of seventies by bishop john shields apostle lyman presented the general yo authorities it gitles of the church and the authorities ties of the stake all of whom were unanimously sustained in their several positions A apostles esties F al lyman and john H smith then occupied the remaining portion of the morning in an interesting manner the spirit of the lord richly sustaining them in their words 1 of comfort and instruction at the afternoon meeting during the administration of the sacra sacrament apostle lyman treated upon the object and importance of this ordinance and the duties of the quorums of the priesthood apostle A carrington also treated upon a number of principles advising and counseling the saints and strangers present in that which tends to salvation in all the reports given 1 it was gratifying fy 14 to learn of tac the p progress being 14 made among the latter day saints in the works of righteousness and the increased faith made manifest we truly have had a time of refreshing from the lord in the outpourings of the spirit daring during our conference in the instructions given and the good music musie and singing discoursed by theTo oele choir tinder the leadership of professor john bowen 11 S president GEO ATKIN clerk |
