If you do, and the offer is accepted, then the bride's parents, who to all outsiders are presumably giving the wedding, would be putting on a false front After all, a good marriage is infinitely more important than a fancy and expensive wedding. A small and informal wedding can be just as lovely, sacred and impressive as one with many trimmings; oftentimes more so. I am very fond of a couple whom I occasionally invite ' to dinner. Every time I get up to remove the dishes in changing courses, the husband will always rise and insists on helping. I protest. How can I tactfully suggest that he" remain seated. Louise Davis Answers: The man is overly polite and would be more thoughtful of you and the others if he remains seated. The next time the two come for dinner, tell this gentleman jokingly with a smile on your lips and in your eyes that you have .set up some new house rules and that you are the only one allowed to leave the table.
