| Show THE TEMPLE THE LAST AST I STONE OP THE SEASONS anns SETTING sting LAID laib PRESENT CONDITION ov OF THE tala the last stone of the seasons betting setting letting upon the salt lake temple walls walla was put puh ta in place yesterday day there have been in all six courses set bet during the present season which includes the turning of 42 arches the walls walla are now ready to receive the tho roof timbers and stand bland as 85 feet 4 inches high and ara thick at the top the battlements are to be carried up some 12 feet higher and will be 2 feet 2 inches thick except at the buttresses where they will be 3 feet 6 inches thick the roof will not be commenced for some time as aa the walls walla are sufficiently strong to sustain them selves for an indefinite period and any change in the hoisting hul hui sting apparatus would involve cons conf considerable ild erable enable outlay consequently the towers will be carried up a considerable consider abia abib distance without any change of machinery there have been no delays of any consequence and considering the height of the walls and the tho great amount of stone raised during the season about 2500 tons tong together with the absent of accidents it all speaks well for the method adopted which la Is the result of brother angella ingenuity and for the good management and conduct of all concerned |
