Show DESERET unteers Marjorie Thomas possesses a solar disposition and a great store of energy, and it seems fitting that she should be head of a group dedicated to getting something called the sunshine bills adopted by the Utah legislature. Mia. Thomas is the chairperson of Utah Common Cause local chapter of the national citizens toby founded in 1970 by former cabinet member John Gardner. In the year ahead, Mrs. Thomas says, the groups highest priority will be its campaign for passage of the sunshine newly-electe- in local lobbying and letter-writin- and countv government adopt open g campaigns. (Lobbying on the national congressional level is performed by paid staff s.;. rti- -'IY! f bills five pieces of legislation designed to shed light on what the group calls the often mysterious proceedings of the state legislature.
