Wallace Kasteler Clearfield's 'crafty' classes By Jan Reed Clearfield Reporter Imagine going to a class and tying a macrame belt, making a leather purse of your own design, a belt or watchband, a sculptured bust of anyone you please. Ceramics, as described above, is one of the many and one of the most courses offered at Clearfield High popular. In this class there are approximately three lectures or demonstrations per half year. After learning how to throw clay on the potters wheel, you may do whatever you want, just about. e Yoif can make all kinds of silver jewelry, patterns, mosaics, wire mobiles and anything that suits tie-dy- your fancy. Instructor Norman Waite is available to help each student and give personal instruction. The only requirement for making things like bead jewelry and purses is that you use your own imagination. An added asset you can buy your materials cheaply. A leather belt in a store may cost about 7 and up. In ceramics you design your own for $4 and under. Purses are the same. Silver jewelry costs about half that of what you pay in stores. Everdhing is cheaper is, everything but clay. Its free. You can see why this is such a popular class! Get ready, get set, go!
