"V Farm leader raps unions By Leo IVrry Deseret News stuff writer PKOVO The president of the American Bureau Federation Farm said here Thursday that American citizens should curb some of the power of labor unions. "It's time to build responsible unionism," Allan Brant said during an Agriculture Week Symposium at Brigham Young University. "We need to take the best we have and build the rest up to the best, Grant told the audience in the Varsity Theater "You and I should correct the inequities to bring the country back to the principals on which this country was founded, Grant said. "We can only do this if agriculture remains a free entity," he warned. Court reverses suit dismissal Dismissal "with prejudice of a civil rights case by a Utah State Prison inmate has been reversed unanimously by the Utah Supreme Court. Chief Justice A. H. Ellctt said Third District Court Judge Marcellus K. Snow erred when he dismissed the suit filed by Andrew G. Kish. He said dismissing the suit with prejudice" barred Kish from taking his civil rights action to federal court. Justice Ellett sent the case back to Judge Snow with orders to sign an order dismissing the case withbut prejudice. Kish filed a civil rights suit in the district court under a section of the federal law. Justice Ellett said this can be done, but the state courts are not required to accept this type of case. Judge Snow granted the states motion to dismiss the suit with prejudice on grounds the court doesnt have jurisdiction over a federal civil rights suit. filed c '-- A Can state honor old The week's activities have included displays in the Wilkinson Center, animal weight guessing contests, movies on animal and agricultural industries, water conservation, and daily judging contests on everything from poultry to livestock.
