Show 6D DESERET NEWS, Friday, November IS, 1970 Paul And Joanne Team In WUSA N. Centre Sets 'Song Of Norway from the theater with a song in their hearts and on their lips. Cinerama Releasing Corp., which is distributing the picture, is saying, Song of By HOWARD PEARSON Deseret News Theater Editor which Song of Norway, opens this winter at the Centre, is a happiness film that should send moviegoers takes up where Norway Sound of Music left off. The words are right, in a way, and in some cases, it goes beyond Sound of Music. We saw Song of Norway the other night at the western premiere in Hollywood and what we saw was aweinspiring in pictorial beauty, beautiful in song and enchanting in many other aspects. It was made partly in Norway, where the scenes of fjords and hills are emblazoned with the glory only a giant motion picture screen can catch. And believe me, the screen shows the beauties of nature in this film. Not only does Song of Norway capture the natural beauties of the country, but e wonmany of the ders, such as the old churches and civic buildings and the homes figure prominently in the loveliness of the picture. Dealing with Edvard Grieg, Norways great composer, in part of his adult life, the picture takes advantage of many of his loved musical works. The Peer Gynt Suite Is played by the London Symphony Orchestra against an animated sequence of Norwegian trolls and legendary figures. The Grieg Piano Concerto and other piano works have been recorded for the soundtrack by John Ogden, London's most popular concert pianist. In all, Song of Norway contains 25 songs and 15 musical numbers.
