The students emerged laughing and joking from the small plane Tuesday and told Turkish officials they could no longer live in the d regime of the Soviet Union. The unmanned vehicle completed its drcumlunar mission and returned to Earth Tues-dacarrying along extremely important photographs needed for studies of the geological and morphological qualities of the moon. Zond 8 splashed down in the Indian Ocean 454 miles southeast of the Chagos Archipelago, the news agency Tass said. It was picked up by a Soviet recovery ship.
