As for the SST, Boeing must prove it will be an economical plane otherwise the carriers will drop plans for its use, however, Mr. Weesner is confident that it will pay for itself. Evaluate Boeing Design The latest design by Boeing is presently being evaluated by the carriers and the government to see if it is economically feasible to move ahead with production plans. Currently there are 15 airports in the United States that can handle the SST, however, even at these airports there is a need to expand facilities. Tan American is moving ahead in this area too. sink They announced Thursday that they would International Airport :$50 million into its Kennedy in New York City. The airline said the facility would havs 612 times as much space as the terminal it now uses. The expansion is expected to be completed by 1971.
