A DECISION morning three years ago, Lanny decided she needed a new dishwasher, but hnw to pay for it was a problem. A friend came to her home that day, admired some flower paintings Lanny had done, and asked if Lanny would paint oneior her. When the friend offered to pay, Lanny named a small sum. Word of the quality of the flower painting plus its reasonable price drew more and more buyers. "I learned, says Lanny, that women often have a hard time tying the colors of a room together when theyre decorating. DEAR ABBY: My heart goes out to that young woman who said she was the worlds 1 was worst housekeeper. in her shoes, but now I once am one of the best. I think I know what the problem is for most women: They never finish what they start Before theyve finished cleaning, they start ironing. Before theyre through ironing, they start to bake. Then, instead of washing up those dishes, they start sewing, and before they finish with that, they go marketing and come home with a lot of stuff to be put away, which only adds to the confusion. If women would tackle only one job at a time, and finish that job and everything connected with it, they would soon find that housekeeping is not a chore but a joy. It is so nice to live in a home that is always in good order. MRS. E. V. B. - CONFIDENTIAL TO G. K.: Hair, like money, is never very important to the man who has plenty of it.
