HASLAM air base worker Stake Calls New 2nd Counselor Seth S. Haslam, In the directorate of material mangement at Warner Robins Air Force Base, has been called as second counselor to Pres. Rayford L. Henderson of Macon Stake. George O. Cornish is first counselor. Pres. Haslam is a native of Wellsville, Utah, and was born April 13, 1930. He attended Utah State University and the University of Georgia and is a graduate of Brigham Young University. He and his wife, Dorothy, are the parents of three children. He has served as a bishop, branch president, high priests group leader, and stake high councilor. Clark N. Stohl, community service worker and chief of the personnel and training branch of the Salt Lake Area office of the Federal Aviation Administration, was elected president of the Utah Division, American Cancer Society, Oct 5. Vice president of the Utah division since 1955, Mr. Stohl succeeds Walter M. Jones. Other officers elected at the divisions annual meeting in Salt Lake City are Ralph J. Hill and Mrs. J. Arthur Wood, vice presidents; Becky Almond, secretary, and Orval W. Adams, treasurer. Mr. Stohl has been a volunteer worker for the society for 15 years. In October, 1963, he was elected to the societys national board of directors. For 21 years be has been a member of the general board f the YMMIA. SALT LAKE: Society Col. Don Rue' Hickman, a member of the Falls Church Ward of Potomac Stake in northern Virginia, has been nominated to Congress for promotion to brigadier general. His Church record indudes a mission, district president, nine years as basketball coach, 17 years as teacher in Sunday-SchoMIA superintendency, Servicemens coordinator and Elders quorum president. Colonel Hickman, son of Mrs. Julia M. Hickman of Salt Lake City, entered the Army in 1942. He was a company commander in Germany during World War H and served in the Korean War, receiving the Silver Star Medal with duster and other medals. In 1960, he was selected to be a member of the Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. A year ago be reported to Vietnam. Col. Hickman and his wife, LoRee, are the parents of four daughters.
