Utahns are asked to read tneir Bibles daily between now and Thanksgiving in a program sponsored by the American Bible Society and the Laymens National Corn-puee. Worldwide Bible reading was started during World War jj to encourage more Bible reading. Since then the society has provided millions of bookmarks suggesting an outline of Bible reading. The Bible js the best known book in the world and can be found in the mosj remote sections of the world. There are 195 complete translations and 1 130 partial translations of it. The Bible has been the best selling book for many years. Hundreds of thousands of copies are given away each year, but millions still are sold. The Bible is often called the bhrary. It is a library of 73 hooks for Catholics and some Protestants, 66 - books for other Protestants and 39 for Jews. The older part contains the sacred writings of the Jews.
