Have you ever thought of the plight of our Mexican brothers in the United Farm ' Workers? I'm writing this from the perspective of desegregation of the white institutions It's a trip when reflect on the changes that were supposed to happen and have not when the Black people in changed since 1954-6Alabama were fighting for desegregated schools Dealing with the Federal Government thought that the Federal Government would maintain the law and order for all people in American society sometimes ask myself will this ignorant monster ever stop his catatonic behavior? Racism in Boston and Louisville has been like the disease of leprosy it has been cured even when America has the cure What am trying to say is we as people have to come together as a coalition before the disease can be stopped Racism has been a force that has been oppressing Native Americans Blacks and Mexican Americans would like to emphasize the need for pluralism in education to obtain an understanding of different cultures and their values to be added to our school curriculum in order to expand our knowledge and to obtain a healthier society Isn't this the land of freedom of choice and the pursuit of happiness? What happened to the Black high school kids' freedom of choice in Boston and Louisville? am saying desegregate those segregated schools it is time for all of us as individuals to standup and stop these racist attacks — these unjust acts I would like to Invite all of you who believe in "equality" to come to the benefit concert in the Guinavah amphitheater in Logan Canyon on May 15 at noon It is supported by the Student Coalition Against Racism and the United Farm Workers f x I Ah the good old days Today people talk about saving the environment and it's a big problem But as it turns out it is not a new environment 70 years ago The old roughrider did a lof of work for national parks People complain about rising electric bills In the good old days you could heat your house with good old firewood which you chopped yourself and could heat an entire room Of course if you walked out of the room it meant building another tire in the room you walked into and chopping more fire wood n In the good People complain about old days we didn't worry about overpopulation We had plagues polio famine droughts and lots of little wars which took care of this problem Employment wasn't such a problem with either The army had a spot waiting Kids learned about violence in the streets where it belongs instead of on television We didn't have to worry about destroying our environment Hell no we were too busy worrying about the over-populatio- environment destroying us We didn't have any problems with corruption in the government either At least if there was any there wasn't anybody who was going to risk exposing it 0 I I I I ' 4 i I !
