Show Page June 18 1973 2 editorial comment It’s no secret Every year the people attending USU’s summer session complain that there is nothing to do The complaints usually last until the summer is over and the weather begins to cool When this occurs everybody starts wishing it was summer again In the past it has been Student Life’s’ policy to wait until the summer was over then tell everyone what a great time they missed Hopefully this will not be the case this year I intend to constantly remind you that there are better things to do in Cache Valley than watch TV (believe it or not!) The decision to go out and get ‘ involved however is still up to you Utah State University is surrounded by (ever decreasing) large formations of mountains that (at least' for the present) have more trees on them than people As long as this ratio is maintained USU’s surroundings will continue to stay attractive The idea is to go up and their benefits before the trees enjoy become out num- bered There is a problem however If everyone goes up to the mountains the hills will become overcrowded The answer to this problem is simple When you go up to the mountains don’t tell anyone but your close friends Don’t let anyone know the fantastic time you had until the summer is over and you have returned to your polluted hometown By doing this everyone stands to gain You had the enjoyment of the beautiful enviroment and the mountains were spared the misery of being tampled to death by rumor mongers that only went up the canyon to see if all those beautiful stories were true The only one that loses in the situation is the person that didn’t have the incentive to look beyond the TV tube something better And chances are that guy (or girl) is a loser anyway Boys i' State-attack- s!
