Interest in geography has been demonstrated by the fact that enrollment in geography courses has increased more than fourfold from 1958 to 1968-6- 9 academic year when nearly 1300 students enrolled The department estimates that 15 to 25 students may be expected to begin a major in geography when it is made available The decision to establish the new major was made at the State Board of High
