University of Wisconsin since 1946 will give the first of his series of lectures today at 11:00 a m in the auditorium Pron author and fessor Buck a literary critic has taught at colleges and universities both at home and abroad He was a guest lecturer at the USAC campus ten years ago and later delivered one of the semicentennial lectures and he was highly praised by those in attendance The series of lectures to be given by Professor Buck come under the general heading of “Books That Have Influenced Civilization” and the series will run through this week Today’s lecture will be “The Human Tradition” This will be followed Tuesday with “The Meaning of Life — Greece” Wednesday “The Mystery of Life— The Hindu Orient” Thursday “The Meaning of Conscience — The Hebrew” and the concluding lecture Friday will deal with “The Christian well-know- Synthesis— Dante’ Old Juniper Hike Tuesday The annual summer hike to Old Juniper which was scheduled for last Wednesday was postponed
