Show Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1966 Westminster PARSON Page Four Monday's Memories George Parsons Down San Fran. To End Fine Season 4-- 4 (by Bill Whorton) Westminster pulled through in the last game of the season and beat San Francisco U. by a score of 26 to 25. This ended the season with a 4- -4 record. The Parsons came from behind after the Dons had taken a 12-- 0 lead. Bob Sparrow, with some fantastic clutch passing, completed 14 out of 28 passes for 239 yards, enabling Westminster to take a 20-lead early in the third quarter. Lindsay gained 95 yards in 24 carries and racked up three of the Parsons touchdowns. Poulson picked up 99 yards on 18 carries and set up both of Westminsters second half scores. The final T.D. came after, a 96 yard drive in 17 plays and Lindsay getting the touchdown with 2:33 left in the game. Then the Dons came back on a 72 yard drive and scored six more points. They tried for the two point conversion and failed. This gave Westminster the ball and a one point lead, both of which they kept. 19 It has been a very good year for football at Westminster. This 4-- 4 record beats last year and gives us a bettsr goal to shoot for next year. I think that all of the football players deserve a thank-yo- u for a season well played. For Ken Poulson, Saturday was his last game. He has played as many yers as he legally can, so now he has to hang up the pads and watch from the sidelines. Thanks Ken for two very fine years of football. Next week I can start on the basketball roster for the upcoming season. I look for a real good hoop season under the leadership of Coach Stenkie. Also there are some good looking po- tential players, and returners from previous years. We have lost Mike Murray and Scott Iverson, but the way things look, we will do all right without them. Thanks again to the football team, for a fine season, one that Westminster College can be proud of. W. Woods Monday, Mondays Memories Cold, rainy, snowing in the mountains but not in the valley.
