A Student And His Funds Are Soon Parted So maybe you went to a mammoth high school and, to you, registering in a small liberal arts college like Westminster sounds like cake. Obviously you have no idea of how much chaotic confusion can result from the lines that you will spend the day in. Picture above of Converse Hall. Not a before or after, but a being painted a during or pink to brighten campusPepto-Bism- al You will, of course, go early to be the first there. You will find the rest of your class has had the same idea and so you will get a number and then stand in line to get into the gym. Stand in line to see your advisor, get his signature, and stand in line to get the Registrars O.K. (If he starts giving you a hard time about your high school grades i i or restricted hours, you may be wise to start at the end of the line again until he cools down a little.) Then stand in line to get the registration for your car- (No car? Dont mope. Merely act smug and say you have one less line to stand in.) Stand in line to get your activity card. For freshmen (yes! your own private line!), stand in line to get your betinies. - , Dont get the wrong idea. Im not trying to frighten anyone by giving the impression that life here is like the Army. It isnt- Only Registration Day here is like the Army. And maybe Week. Soon after that youre allowed to sit. - In-itati- Registration Day will be one of the highlights of your stay at Westminster. You will make many new friends while glowering and complaining about the length of the lines, the price of tuition, the lack of organization, and all the other pleasing aspects of campus life. You will find a common bond to tie you to each of the (and I dont mean odd 300 freshmen) who will be glumly shuffling through this experience for the first time. 300-od- d Only one word of advice: always have your money ready when its asked for. Youll be amazed at how many problems this will erase.
