The efforts of Miss Rushmore under the watchful eyes of Mr. Lees were tantamount to a professional production. A well trained cast coupled with the efforts of the Theatre Production classes to render that perspicuity and yet hold the suspense which is so esential to a successful production. This achievement is complementary not only to Mr. Lees capable instruction, but to Miss Rushmore's ability to interpret and express in her own right. I should like to submit that friendshipand overcomes pseudo-socia- l these barriers standards. Friendship to me is more than just the fact that one is on speaking terms with another. A friend is someone who will smile when you meet, someone to talk to when you are lonely, someone to speak with when you are too deeply involved with emotion to really comprehend particular problems. Friendship is preoccupied thoughtfulness when you are sick. Friendship is defending your opinion as being yours although not necessarily right. A friend is one who is concerned with not only your happiness, but the happiness of all your associates, and all people wherever they are. Affection, I would say, is the reward of friendship, and happiness is the dividend of being someones friend. INGVAR'S BARBER SHOP Damn O noble Gort message for you...! As for me, I die. 1 by Stan Clark, Chief Justice The Student Court has now moved from a theoretical developmental stage to a functioning reality. With the conclusion of its first hearings early this month, the Court found itself asking many questions concerning procedure and function of the sessions. We sought and have received valuable criticism from observers, witnesses and defendants, which alone, with the observations of the justices themselves is being evaluated and incorporated where applicable. Some of the considerations thus far effected are; 1. Whereas the specific decisions of a case are a matter between the defendant and the Court, the opinion, i.e., the judgment and thinking behind the decision, are of general interest. Since these opinions do constitute an interpretation of the law and the specific facts of the case, they aid in the establishment of precedent. We therefore will post the opinion on the board at the outer hall of Converse. 2. The need was felt for some standards terms to be used by the four levels of campus judicial agencies, i.e.. House Councils, Student Judiciary, Board of Review and Administration. We have therefore established terms with definitions, a copy of which is available In the Dean of Students office or from the Chief Justice. 3. Because our function is somewhat unique, the degree to which we are analogous to a civil court varies with the specific consideration. This is particularly true in the case of witnesses. No student or other member is asked to serve as prosecution. Here, the Justices act as analogous to a board of inquiry in the military. Witnesses are asked to testify, yet the Court is the only body to examine the defendant. This is, by necessity, a sketchy outline of onr thinking and will he elaborated on to anyone wishing to know' more.
