The morning's activities xvill include: A Hag raising conducted by local Scouts, winners ol the xvriting and history contests xvill be honored, performances by local musical groups including the Payson Pipe Band and high School Jazz Band, displays and demonstrations by local businesses, and a planting demonstration by a local tree expert. The Villa Theatre is seeking original scripts of all lengths and genres, suitable for a fumilx audience. There will be a nexv script category, as well as a children's theater category, along xx ith a full length play. Winners will be awarded complimentary tickets and possibility of production, along xv ith gift certificates at Losee Jexvelers in Piovo. All participants will be entitled to an award certificate and a thorough critique from qualified judges. Plays that retied the local history and lifestyle are especially welcome. Plays may be sent or delivered to the Villa Theatre, 254 South Main, Springville, Utah 84663. Please enclose them in an envelope to New Play Contest, co Noreen Astin contest director. Plays may also be mailed to Noreen Astin at 370 West 330 South, American Fork, Utah 84003. Contest entries must be postmarked or received by September 30, 2003. SASE must be included for script return. Bill and Marilyn Brown are committed to fostering original scripts and promoting new xvork.
