Show The Payson Chronicle, March 30, 1994, Page 18 Obituaries Orlene B. Hart Orlene Blair Hart, age 73, of Elk Ridge, passed away Monday, March 21, 1994 at Mountain View Hospital. She was bom July 6, 1920 at St. George, Utah, a daughter of DelmerMed-wi- n and Izora Hatch Blair. She married H. Harry Hart, May 2, 1942 at Glendale, California. Their marriage was solemnized April 19, 1958 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, serving in many organizations including Primary and Relief Society. She was a visiting teacher and had served in many capacities as a pianist She especially loved children. She is survived by her husband, Harry, of Elk Ridge; three sons and two daughters and their spouses: Harry and Susan Hart, Cherokee, North Carolina; Steven and Cynthia Hart, Fortuna, California; heri and Earl Taylor, Payson; Robert and Laurie Hart, Las Vegas, Nevada; Tami and James Hignite, Littlerock, California; 22 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Blair of Costa Mesa, California; and Robert D. Blair of Thousand Oaks, California; a cousin, who was raised with Orlene as a sister, Loreta Pratt of Orem. She was preceded in death by a brother, Delmer M. Blair, Jr. Services were held Sat., March 26, 1994 at the Church of The Hills Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Los Angeles, California, under the direction of Walker Mortuary in Payson, Utah. M. Stearman Phyliis McDonald Phyllis Stearman, age 78, of Payson, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 1994 at her home. She was bom November 18, 1915 at Park City, Utah, a daughter of Giles and Maud Webb McDonald. She married Henry Noel in Idaho. They were later divorced. She married Frank John Komator in Hawaii. He preceded her in death. She married John L. Stearman in California. He died in 1992. She was a telephone operator in Mon-ticell- o, Utah. She later became a Licensed Practical Nurse and practiced in California, Wichita Falls, Texas and in Payson. She had resided in Salem for many years. She enjoyed fishing. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. She is survived by her son, Richard and Reva Noel, of Houston, TX; three Susan Duke, Arlington, TX; Joyce Strange, Wichita Falls, TX; and Don Stearman of California; two grandsons: Steven and John Noel; four She also had Do snakes get tired? If they do, there were four exhausted ones after a day at Santaquin Middle School. Mr. Tom Kelley, father of middle school student, Susan Kelley, brought two California King snakes (one albino), a Milk Snake, a Garter Snake and two Spiny Turtles to Linda Brinkerhoffs science classes and answered questions, told facts and allowed them to be handled if the students desired to hold them. They were all in aquariums and allowed out only if requested. It was a fun experience for both the class and Mr. Kelley, plus a learning time. Spring is a time of growing, and the kindergarten classes of Santaquin School have been discussing this very thing. the Movie "Peter Pan" was shown to the students and they were asked if they would like to never grow up. Baby pictures and clothes were brought in and compared to their present appearance. They marked adding machine tape with their baby length and then marked how they had grown. Mrs. Montgomery and Mrs. Oleson had the students draw themselves as babies and how theyll look when they are grown up. . "Kindergarten is no longer building with blocks and playing in the sandbox," says Santaquin PTA member and kindergarten helper Kathy Kelley. step-childre- n: great-grandchildr- en. step-grandchild- ren and en; three brothers and four sisters: Leonard and Arola McDonald, Bountiful; Lola and Jack Merrill, Salem; Shirley and Carl Ivie, Thermopolis, Wyoming; Virginia Smith, West Valley City; Dale and Bobbie McDonald, Marlow, Oklahoma; Buzzy and Jeanie Mc- Donald, Winemuca, Nevada; and Mildred Richardson of Waurika, Ok- lahoma; also, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Benjamin and Daniel McDonald. Services were held Sal, March 26th, 1994 at the Walker Mortuary. Burial in the Heber City Cemetery. Utah County Sheriffs Department Youth Announces Posse Program The Utah County Sheriffs Department would like to announce a new program starting in the area. The Sheriffs Youth Posse is a select group of youth who have been "caught in the act" of doing a good deed. For example: showing genuine acts of kindness, standing up against negative peer pressure, using peer pressure in a positive way, voluntarily helping the less fortunate, being accepting of, and helping children that are considered different, or any action that makes this individual exceptional. In order to be accepted into the Posse, a youth must be nominated by any individual who has witnessed the good deed. To nominate a youth into the Posse, a letter must be submitted to the Sheriffs Youth Posse, Utah County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 330, Provo, Ut 84603. The letter must include the name and address of the youth and a brief description of the act or action performed. The nominator may also choose to include his name and phone number. The letter will be reviewed by a panel of law enforcement personnel and the nominee will be contacted byu a police officer. Awards are given in the form of gift certificates and prizes from local merchants, a certificate signed by Sheriff Dave Bateman detailing the good deed, and other prizes as they become available from other merchants. The value of the prizes are dependant upon the deed performed. The Sheriffs Youth Posse has received several nominations already.
