Show A STACK OF HAY EVENED BURNED last saturday evening the fire bell ran rans about 10 denoting that something som ehing was burning in the third wai d the boys got the apparatus out n a hurry and when the location ot of the e blaze was learned a fast run was made to the scene of 0 trouble the fire was burning a stack 0 of hay belonging to levi S anderson Anu erson located down in the watery lane just between tween burls place and the railroad tracks when some of the farmers living down in that part of 0 the city were returning home in the evening they noticed a crowd of tramps loitering around the afie stacks and it is presumed that they deliberately set fire to the hay making their escape before any one arrived on the spot when the firemen reached the burning stack a large stream ot of water was turned into the field and conducted around both sides ot of the fi fire re the boys blew ew water on a stack that styon just a few yards south of the burning one which was saved caved because of 0 the wind blowing from the southeast nothing could be done but stand around until the hay bay had all been burned up and it is estimated that there were 20 tons in the stack some feed sheds and other stacks slacks near by were protected as well as soule some wagons wagon and machinery which was stored near the hay |
