Over the weekend the family of Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson held their family reunion at the Nelson home. All the members except Curtis and family were and they called from Pennsylvania. The bride-to-b- e graduated from Payson High School as a high honor student and from LDS Seminary. She is presently attending the Brigham Y Young University and is majoring in Early Childhood Education. Mr. Dimond is a graduate from Orem High School and LDS Seminary. He served as a missionary in the France, Paris mission for the LDS Church. He is a Senior at the Brigham Young University majoring in Elementary Education. The couple will both graduate next April. The couple are planning an August 25th wedding and will be married in the Provo Temple. Fraser and Riches married July 8th Ruth M. Fraser of Milwaukie, Oregon and Bennie B. Riches of Orem, announce the marriage of their Neil daughter, Linda Marie Riches, to Dennis son is the Dennis Pokomy, both of Salem, Oregon. of Robert B. Pokorny of St. Paul, Oregon. Leslie and Sarah Garner Smith of Grass Valley, Calif., are spending a few weeks in Payson with her brothers, James and Ezra Garner, and families. Bart will serve in Japan as an LDS missionary. Barts brother, Mark, who recently returned from a mission in Michigan, plans to complete his last year at BYU this year. Last Saturday the men and boys of the Dixon family took a trip to Strawberry, where they spent the day fishing. In the group were Blanchard Dixon, Dennis Dixon and Don Dixon of Payson; Dr. Blaine Dixon and son, Eric of Modesto; Russell Dixon and sons, Ryan and Billie, of Salt Lake City. On Sunday all gathered at the Blanchard Dixon home for a family dinner. In the group were the host couple and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dixon, Don Dixon, all of Payson; the Blaine Dixons of Modesto; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dixon and children of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Dixons sisters, Terry Lacy of Salt Lake City and Lori Lacey of Oklahoma, who is spending the summer in Utah. Several Payson women joined a caravan of buses from Utah to attend dedication services of a garden in Nauvoo, HI. The East Payson Stake group was under direction of Stake President Carolyn Shuler, with the Payson Stake group directed by Stake Presi- dent Ella Porter. They returned home Sunday evening, July 2. (See separate item on the event, published elsewhere in this newspaper.) Mr. and Mrs. Dick Cloward and daughter, Robin, of Torrance, Calif. called on relatives here last week. They were in Utah on vacation and also to see Robin, a BYU student, depart on a around-the-worl- d study tour. Her first stop was to be in Spain, leaving the Salt Lake airport last Wednesday. In Provo, they visited with Mr. Clow-ard- s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer R. Cloward. Mr. and Mrs. Ferron Hiatt and four of their sons and daughters and families held a reunion in the miod-weswhere they vacationed. The five cars pulled into a Holiday Inn at Kansas City, Mo., within five minutes of one another, coming from various directions of the t, Richard L. Peterson and his wife, Kay H., and two of their three children, Denice and Brett, of Cynthiana, Oklahoma, have spent a k vacation in this area. They are houseguests of George and Carol H. Wilson of Payson and Mrs. Larue two-wee- compass. Besides the Ferron Hiatts of Payson, others were daughter LuJean and her hus band, Richard Persson, and children of St. Paul. Minn.; daughter, Diane and her husband, Elten Jensen and family of Emporia, Kansas, the Gordon Hiatts and children of Salt Lake City and the Duane Hiatts and family of Edgemont. The family attended a big league baseball game that night at Kansas City, and some were surprised to see the words Welcome Ferron Hiatt Reunion on the big scoreboard. The next days were spent in visiting Independence and Liberty and other places in Missouri of interest to LDS history. Previously, the Ferron Hiatts spent ten days with the Persson family in St. Paul and before their return home visited for two weeks in St. Paul with the Jensen family. and Mrs. Gun-narJohnson had their daughters Lisa and three children, and Linda, from Loveland, Colorado, here for a visit recently. There were 94 members of the family attending. Staying over Sunday were Mrs. Naomi Smith, Mrs. Verlene Turner, and Owen Thornton, all of Miss Gayle Garner and Miss Lori Smith were here for the weekend with their families. They are employed and work in Salt Lake City. Sunday in Sacrament Meeting the tiny daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Laker was blessed by her father and given the name of Leslie Evelyn Laker. Many family members were here to witness the event. We were saddened to hear of the death of one of our dear sisters, Mrs. Wanetta Jensen. She has truly been a friend to all, and there are very few of the homes here that are not graced by one of the beautiful Debbie England England and Nelson to wed Debbie England and Mark A.
